Hey do you know where all the comments go?

Spice Playz • 2 years ago

once up a time a green light like wave struck all the comments on this website turning them into stoned that eventually brokedown

Otaku • 2 years ago

So if Yuzuriha collects the broken down comments and joins them in order can they be brought back using revival fluid?

Esssh • 2 years ago

Someone said this under one pieces comment section ‘ They're running out of host servers to use... They keep getting kicked from them as MUCH MORE HARSH Anime Piracy laws have come this year, and will continue to grow even worse. Honestly it feels like the end of free streaming shows like these WILL BE DEALT WITH and people actually arrested or fined’

Sooo that's one thing that really doesn't make sense.

If the people lived there for ~3700 years things just don't work anymore. Language evolves quickly and they would not be able to communicate anymore - if I remember correctly it's said that after 400-500 years you can't really understand the language anymore since too much changed.

Purple Crystal • 2 years ago

You're right, but maybe the language didn't change that much because there are only about 40 people? That's insanely low population after 3,7k years even if they started with 6 people. But probably the author simply didn't think about that or ignored that fact.

You're right. There are some modern examples of this. Old Norse over time developed into Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Icelandic and so on.
Icelandic is the language closest to Old Norse and how many people live there compared to the other ones?
Iceland: 350 thousand
Norway, Sweden, Denmark: 5-10 million

It's the closest to old norse because of isolation, they didn't interact as much with the outside world as other countries that had borders to each other. There's not going to be any exchanges of culture and language if there are no other cultures or languages. And they live too close to each other and there's too few of them for any new dialects to form. It would take a lot longer than 3700 years.

Thanks for reading my Ted Text.

Dnation • 2 years ago

it doesnt really make sense. how If my calculations are right then they had to do incest to survive( I mean to get to 40 people)

Krescent Wolf • 2 years ago

There was some discussion about this back when this episode first came out but... long story short: There likely would have been some near-incest. Marrying cousins and such (things that still happen in some places today).

But the survivors had the bare-minimum to avoid the worst possibility. That is: Several generations of direct incest (Parent/Child or Brother/Sister) which is what would bring out all the negative recessive genes we usually associate with Incest.

I mean... Mantle is one ugly looking bastard.

Sarkross • 1 year ago

Not really. If each couple has at least 3 childrens and each of them kept the ration nb of boys = nb of girls, they can married each others without having to go with incest, until 3rd generation cousin. And it's scientifically proved that being with someone with 3 or 4 generation proximity is the best ratio for compatibility ( because the opposite of incest, aka being totally unrelated, isn't forcibly the best outcome. if genes are too different they could be totally incompatibles and make children as ill as the one from consanguinity, it's called " Hybrid Depression", a phenomenon scientists work on.) Yeah I know it's strange x) But in a way, 3rd/4th generation cousin are just relatives in matter of genetic, not family. In some country, like Iceland, people are more or less all distants relatives, so they even used phone application to calculate the proximity, like this they can choose the partner who'll be the best for strong children.

Purple Crystal • 2 years ago

Well they couldn't revive people so there's no other way.

iamkira • 2 years ago

Except that everything in that 3700 years was covered in stone, so there was no evolution taking place.

Jorb • 2 years ago

I think they meant in terms of the village, since it's implied to have been settled by the people from the ISS and their descendants

Krescent Wolf • 2 years ago

There would likely be some drift in that time, but the limited population would actually limit how much drift there is in the language too.

Big changes in language are a direct result of large numbers of people using, and reinventing, said language.

Naoshikuu • 7 months ago

I'm thinking the Hundred Tales might have been at least a deterrent for the language to change too quickly by the time Senku showed up... Since this is one of their primary sources for information. We've seen how they basically talk in the language of the Tales (momotaro, gorilla)

(even though historical instances of orally-passed tales never really made it 4 millennia without becoming super archaic x))

Dog • 5 months ago

It requires suspension of disbelief to watch this science anime.
A lot of things don't make sense like how strong or smart someone can be, or how skilled/talented they are. Everything is exaggerated to the extreme for excitement. Logically they wouldn't even be speaking the same language and there would be at least a million people at that point that have adapted to different environments and experiences that the population went through.

This is honestly so fucking interesting. What a show it's been.

So the one who told that story was Senku's dad?

What if he's the one who also cause the Petrifification 3700 years ago?

TRUCK- kun` X_X ` • 2 years ago

Did think of what happened to all the people in space and if the villagers are a total new species cuz they were mostly blonde but I don't think 3700 years would just leave this little change on the survivor generation...

And who knows, there 7 billion+ people on 7 continents, it's not necessary that these people are the only left species or that there is only one sciencehead alive out there...

Evan • 2 years ago

Mind blowing shit. Senku has a great father. Btw, it is kinda incest.

As they say: your son is kinda like a detachment of your balls. Literally explained in this episode

Octania • 1 year ago

Am I overlooking something here? It appears Ruri was the only one who knew all the 100 tales, not just the basic ones which are used in day to day live (forbidden fruits, wild animals etc)

If not, this is plot convenience at its finest...
I kinda find it hard to believe that for over 3700 years with over 100 generations and with a severe lack of medical knowledge not a single "priestess" has ever died during childbirth or some other reason before passing on the full "100 tales" to her (single?) sucessor as a priestess.

gotta love how the knowledge of "Ishigami Senku" managed to survive for that long, yet it would've died out with Ruri had he been revived just a few days/weeks/months later.
So Senku was JUST in time after all that time... in his own words "that's 10 billion percent not realistic".

I see. We finally see where Senku gets his attitude from. And how ironic it is that just like him, his father also built a civilization, even though he wasn't the best at science. We can see how it comes full circle, like human evolution. Amazing.
